In her early life, Elle MacPherson was born with birth name is Eleanor Nancy Gow on March 29, 1963 in the Killara neighborhood of Cronulla, Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), Australia, and Elle MacPherson was the daughter of Peter Gow, a former president of a Sydney rugby league team, the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. Elle MacPherson’s mother Frances worked as a nurse before she married. Elle MacPherson reportedly grew up in Killara, a North Shore suburb of Sydney, and Elle MacPherson attended the Killara High School. Elle MacPherson is the eldest of four children including the activist and sometimes model, Mimi Macpherson.

Elle MacPherson rise to popularity on the age of 17 when Elle MacPherson enrolled at Sydney modeling agency Chadwick’s. Before beginning her college studies, Elle MacPherson visited the United States (U.S.) with the intent of spending one year doing modeling work in order to earn money to pay for her college education. Elle MacPherson traveled to New York City (NYC), where she initially signed up with the Click Model Management company. This became the beginning of a 25-year stay in modelling work.

Elle MacPherson’s modelling career began on 1982 with a television commercial for Tab which established her as a “girl next door” figure in Australia. Elle MacPherson gained nine kg (20 lbs.) to disguise her athletic frame for the period role. Elle MacPherson in Britain’s Next Top Model: Elle MacPherson on February 2, 2010 was announced as the new host of Britain’s Next Top Model, taking over from Lisa Snowdon. Elle MacPherson will also serve as executive producer on the show. Joining Elle MacPherson on the revamped show will be OBE winning fashion designer Julien MacDonald, fashion stylist Grace Woodward and male model Charley Speed.
