By the way, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” is the twelfth studio album by American pop and R&B singer Mariah Carey. Originally scheduled for release on August 25, 2009, the project was released on September 29 through Island Records in the United State (U.S.) and November 23, 2009 with Mercury Records in the United Kingdom (UK). The album was predominately produced and written by Mariah Carey, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and Terius “The-Dream” Nash.
“Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” was preceded by the United State (U.S.) top ten hit “Obsessed” and upon release the album was well-received by critics who awarded it 69/100, higher ratings than her two previous efforts. However, commercially the album only managed to debut and peak at number three in the United State (U.S.) with sales of 168,000 which was low compared to previous album, E=MC2 which debuted at number one with sales over 463,000.
After the album’s release the second single, a cover of Foreigner’s classic “I Want to Know What Love Is” reached number 60 on United State (U.S.) Billboard Hot 100 and top 30 in Europe whilst third radio-only United State (U.S.). single, “H.A.T.E.U.” reached 72 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. In support of the album Mariah Carey embarked on the Angels Advocate Tour. An album of Memoirs remixes and left over songs titled Angels Advocate was planned for March 30, 2010 but has since been canceled.
